Our approach

Lessons that start with the learner.

Ivana’s teaching is student-centred: built on how each student learns best, what they care about, and a relationship of trust.

The Heart of Learning difference

Student-centred, by conviction.

Students learn best when lessons fit how they learn and what they care about.

Their style

Content is taught to suit each student’s learning style, so concepts land faster and stay longer.

Their interests

Lessons draw on what the student already loves, and on real-life situations that give the work a purpose.

A real connection

Students grasp ideas more quickly when they trust their teacher. Ivana builds that relationship first.

How it works

From first hello to steady progress.

1

Reach out

Send a short note about the learner and what you’re hoping for. You’ll hear back within 24 hours.

2

Meet Ivana

A complimentary 20-minute online introduction, generally for students aged 10 and up, to understand level and needs.

3

Tailored classes

Live lessons using materials Ivana creates for the student, homework support, or a mix of both, with direct feedback.

4

Clear progress

After every class, a written summary: what was covered, next steps, observations and optional homework.

Ivana also stays in touch with the other professionals in a student’s life, including learning strategists, occupational therapists, tutors and speech-language pathologists.

Class details

Tailored to each student’s goals.

Complimentary trial

Prospective students, generally aged 10 and up, are offered a free 20-minute online meeting. It is a chance to meet one another and for Ivana to understand the student’s level and needs before working together.

Live classes

Lessons use materials Ivana creates to target the student’s areas for improvement (supplementary or remedial), focus on homework completion, or combine both. Feedback is direct, constructive and consistent.

Collaboration

Beyond the classroom teacher, Ivana stays in contact with the other professionals in a student’s life, including learning strategists, occupational therapists, other tutors and speech-language pathologists.

Progress tracking

Students or parents receive an email after each class with the completed work, a summary of the lesson, actionable next steps, observations and optional homework.
