About the founder
Meet Miss Ivana.
A certified English language instructor who has spent twelve years helping children, teens and adults find their voice in English.
Her story
Toronto, Havana, Tokyo, and back home again.
Ivana Kovačević is a private English instructor from Toronto. She studied English (Linguistics and Literature) and Sociology for her Honours B.A., then earned a D-TEIL certificate (Discipline of Teaching English as an International Language) followed by a TESOL certificate.
Her passion for language instruction grew as she completed a Master’s Degree in Education and a Graduate Diploma in Language and Literacy Education. To give back to her York University community, she became an active member of the school’s Education Alumni Network, hosting professional development events and mentoring current students.
For twelve years, she has taught English remotely and in-home, one-on-one and in small and large groups. She remains dedicated to her craft, personalizing every class to each student’s needs, interests, goals and strengths, so that learning is both memorable and purposeful.
Ivana works to build meaningful relationships with her students and shares her own love of learning along the way. That, in essence, is the Heart of Learning.
